Stress Treatment In Dublin
Spectrum Therapy is Ireland's largest network of Psychology and Counselling clinics, with 19 locations across Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Westmeath and Wicklow. Our Psychologists can provide evidence-based therapy for a wide wide range of anxiety issues. The stress issues we specialise in treating include:
Stress is a normal physical response, in which the person reacts to real or imagined threat or demands. In times of high-stress, we respond with an automatic and rapid bodily reaction called the “fight-flight-or-freeze” response. Stress can have wide ranging impacts on a person's relationships, and their physical and mental health.
Acute Stress Disorder
Acute Stress Disorder is characterised by the development of anxiety and other symptoms within one month of exposure to an extreme traumatic event like experiencing a serious injury or death, a threat of serious injury or death or a threat to your physical integrity or the physical integrity of others.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a condition, which occurs in response to a traumatic event such as being attacked, injured, abused or witnessing the loss of a loved one. In contrast to normal trauma experience and recovery, the person with PTSD does not appear to move on after the normal period of adjustment to the shock of the event.
